Criteria for Admission to Our Program

  • Current physiological dependence on opiates and evidence of addiction for at least one year prior to your application for methadone treatment. Exceptions to the physiological dependence requirement are allowed if you:
    1. Are pregnant
    2. Have been incarcerated 30 days or longer within the previous six months
    3. Have had at least six months of maintenance treatment, with discharge or detoxification occurring no more than a year ago, and have no other forms of treatment available to you
  • Age 18 or older
  • Willingness to undergo inpatient detoxification for concurrent non-opiate or alcohol dependence if it is indicated and approved by a physician with this program
  • No unstable psychiatric, emotional or behavioral conditions or complications that could distract from recovery
  • Stable living arrangements, transportation and social/family support
  • Willingness to sign a Release of Confidential Information for private physicians, Department of Children and Families and other legal authorities involved in referral
  • Medically stable and approved for admission by a physician with this program
  • Stable and legal means to support payment of daily dosing fee

Program Restrictions

  • Lack of documented dependency on opiates
  • Unwillingness to discontinue use of prohibited prescription medications such as benzodiazepines, a class of tranquilizers, sleeping pills and muscle relaxers.
  • Current risk of harming self or others
  • Actively psychotic
  • Medical conditions or complications that require treatment in another setting

Admission Process
Orientation to the program is conducted on a regular basis. You will be scheduled for clinical and medical intakes within two weeks of that orientation and initial screening.
