A Message from the Women's Board President
Why Join The Women’s Board?
Over my years as a volunteer with the Women’s Board, I’ve come to truly appreciate the significance of our contribution to the Baptist Health Care Foundation. The value of the Women’s Board is not just in the dollars raised through our jewelry sales, the Denim & Rhinestones Ball or the Fashion Show. The true value is in the time and dedication of all the women who make the Women’s Board a priority in their lives.
All of us have unique talents and skills that come together to make the Women’s Board a success. While I have little aptitude for working directly with patients, I can still make a difference in their lives by donating my organizational skills and, of course, my time. Other members staff the gift shops, volunteer in patient contact areas of the hospital or recruit local sponsors for our events. Some members work one or two sales a year and others just enjoy attending the quarterly luncheons for the programs and fellowship. Many of our members have been involved since the Women’s Board was created over thirty years ago. Other faces are newer but no less dedicated to the mission of the board. We are a diverse group in age, occupation and personality. However, we are unified in our desire to nurture the mission of the Women’s Board. To date, we have raised well over one million dollars for the BHC Foundation and our programs and contributions continue to grow annually.
Working with the Women’s Board has been extremely satisfying for me. I feel fortunate that many of these exceptional women are now my friends and I’m proud to be part of such an accomplished group. Wouldn’t you like to be part of it, too? Just click on the application link or contact Kim Rainer at 469-2248 or via email at kim.rainer@bhcpns.org.
